To further strengthen inter-school collaboration, a delegation from the School of Physical Science and Technology at Southwest Jiaotong University, led by Dean Jia Huanyu, conducted a research and exchange visit to the School of Physics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) on March 27. The delegation included four members and engaged in discussions with HUST’s leadership, including Liu Huiping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physics, and Cai Jianming, Dean of the School of Physics.
During the symposium, Dean Jia Huanyu expressed gratitude for the warm reception and outlined the purpose of the visit, emphasizing the goal to comprehensively learn from HUST’s experience in school management and governance. He highlighted the desire for in-depth collaboration to achieve mutual progress. Dean Cai Jianming provided a detailed overview of the School of Physics’ development history, institutional construction, and innovative practices in faculty development, talent cultivation, scientific research, and discipline building. He underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two institutions to promote high-quality development in fundamental research. Participants engaged in lively discussions on key topics, sharing insights and strategies. Following the meeting, the delegation visited HUST’s National Center for Precision Gravity Measurement, gaining firsthand exposure to cutting-edge research facilities and projects. This visit marks a significant step in fostering academic and research partnerships between the two schools, with both sides committed to advancing collaborative initiatives in physics and related fields.
